John was part gypsy, the people wispered. And, if they were mistaken, this seemed very well hidden by the man's traits. He had a very wild appearance about him, like he had been raised by wolves and his manner was wild as well. You didn't know if he was going to laugh or cut a man's head clear off his shoulders.
